Letters!

This week I have been writing some letters to my penpals, one lady whom I particularly owe a letter and miss dropping a papery line with.

I’ve also joined in with Jocelyn at The Reading Residence Bring Back Paper challenge.

Jocelyn’s January’s challenge is to send out a piece of Happy Mail. If you are already a Snail Mailer she has set the additional task of sending out one more piece of Happy Mail to some one you don’t regularly correspond with.

Earlier in the month I fulfilled this January challenge by joining in with ‘Pay it Forward’ where by you send a piece of happy mail to 5 different people randomly at anytime throughout 2015.

You may have seen this on my Instagram & Twitter account and around and about, many people take part in this.

I offered this to the regular people who I exchange with and also those who I do not exchange with.

So excitingly (as I enjoy sending happy mail as much as receiving it) I have 5 ladies to surprise at some point.

1: Lady in the Netherlands.
1: Lady in America. (I already exchange with)
2: Ladies in The UK.
1: Lady in Australia.

I’m so pleased I got a response and am really looking forward to sending these ladies a treat during the year.
I’m so eager, I need to put my thinking cap on and surprise these ladies.

#M2ABTRAVELLINGNOTEBOOK

I received a second travelling journal this month.

This is Sarah @mum2AandB12 travelling notebook; #M2ABtravellingnotebook.

Sarah asked me to post some photos on Instagram of the entries so far so I took snip it photos to leave her intrigued and not ruin the surprise for her.

But as these are my own entries I’ve chosen to share them with you.
So here are my 4 pages.

And I finished with Grandmas Diary Quote decorated with painted circles in 2 of my favourite colour combinations turquoise/teal and gold.

#PURPLEHIKESTRAVELLINGJOURNAL

What should fall on my door mat the other week but PurpleHikes from Instagram & Twitters, Travelling Journal.

She kindly added a few extra treats.

Let me show you how Purple Hikes has started her Journal.

PurpleHikes has included lovely clear instructions and examples if your a bit stuck for inspiration.

One thing I enjoyed about this journal choice was the size page you had freedom with and the quality of paper allowing lots of multi crafting without ruining previous pages with ink or glue splodges.

So now let me show you my page entries, it’s very nerve racking being the first entry and trying to do her journal proud…

My first page I based on a welcome theme and the start of the journals travels with a little to-from map.
There is some lavender from the garden to add a relaxing scent.

Page 2 is the quote that’s is always in my heart now as it was found in all my beloved Grandmothers diaries after she past away earlier this year.

The next page I choose to represent some of my hobbies and enjoyments.
So you have the tea cups, crocheted flowers, stamps representing #postcircle and the frilly ribbon was a piece of one of the ribbons attached to giant balloons at our wedding back in July and a few other bits and bobs.

I saved the last page for a few notes on myself.

And now the #purplehikestravellingjournal has been past on I look forward to watching its development on Instagram so I do hope there are future pictures peeps.

Snail Mail

It’s been longer than I thought since I’ve blogged about various snail mail.

I haven’t been keeping a very good photographic account of all my incoming and outgoing mail recently either.

But here are a few I have recorded.

OUTGOING

(No Nosey Cat was harmed during the making and sending of this snail mail – Royal Mail wouldn’t take her)

INCOMING

Recording my snail mail properly again is something I endeavour to do. Now all the wedding planning and doing is over.

Crafty Rainbow Swap

A few Weeks, well a Month ago (It didn’t quiet make my Very understanding swap partner on time), I took part in a #crafttherainbowswap set up by Louise @louffy1983 on Instagram.

The swap was 1 item each colour of the rainbow with at least 4 handmade items.

I enjoyed thinking of ideas for the swap but silly me didn’t consider the time constraints the wedding would bring so I got behind and had to alter a few things.

With my swaps I try to look at what crafts the person I’m swapping with does and then do something different for them. As I think it’s nice to receive crafts you may not do yourself.

This is what I came up with for my rainbow swap parcel.

RED

I needle felted a RED heart hanging.

ORANGE

I went more for the smell with ORANGE and made bathbombs & scrub, infused with Sweet Orange aromatherapy oil. I added some Marigold petals to add some extra orange in colour form.

YELLOW

A little to late to plant this year but YELLOW sunflowers I think are such happy flowers.
These are the Giant Variety ! I hope that my swap partner and her son will have fun growing these next year.

GREEN

I saw a little GREEN note book & letter C for my swap partners name so teamed the two up to personalise a note book for her.
… And who could resist the little green froggy rubber.

BLUE

I’m going to admit this was my last make and I had issues the ceramic paint didn’t overly like the air dry clay – so I’m hoping this was ok in the end. But I made a small trinket bowl from air dry clay and painted it with BLUE ceramic paint and tipped it with silver.

INDIGO

Pompoms !! I made INDIGO woollen pompom flowers, and used florist tape to cover the stick steams, then placed them in a purple/indigo shot glass I brought.

VIOLET

I brought a VIOLET coloured Amethyst bracelet for my swap partner. I do like healing stones and I hope this helps her.

At The End Of Every Rainbow

… Is a pot of gold … chocolate gold in this case.

PINK

Now PINK isn’t a colour of the rainbow but I thought as a little extra I would included Pink. These skittles are dessert flavour ?.

RAINBOW

I couldn’t resist this rainbow lolly pop it reminded me of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.

And what better than a rainbow coloured macaroon postcard to pop a little note for my swap partner in.

Finally some rainbow star stickers.

My Rainbow Swap Parcel Received

My swap partner had wrapped her parcels so lovely. Each with the colour button.

These are the lovely gifts she sent me which are now in various places around the house. I love them all! – Thank You.

Of course I saved the buttons…

Easter Happy Mail

Happy Easter Weekend.

I wanted to share with you my Easter Mail in a separate Post.

I had especially lovely Easter related mail- 1 #PostCircle & 1 #InstaPalMail this last fortnight.

Helen always makes some beautiful and intricate cards.

Look at this little fellow, how cute! he now resides on the eggs in the kitchen.

#BringBackPaper: Wednesday

A quick #BringPaperBack post from Hundred Acre Farm as I stop for Tea.

This Wednesday Jocelyn at The Reading Residence is encouraging us to post a letter/card etc to someone and brighten their day.

So apart from my normal letter writing and Easter Card sending to various #PostCircle #TweetPalMail #InstaPalMail friends.

I wanted to send my Great Aunt an Easter Card.

And it was My Auntie’s Birthday.

I loved this card when I saw it and I think it will bring a smile to both her and my Uncle’s face, as one of their Cats who looks very similar to this picture does like a morsel of chicken. So much so the word chicken can not be used and the word hen is now referred to.

I like to update you on what my letter box has been delighted with now and again.
